THE WOMEN ON THE MOTHER ROAD IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: Route 66 Oral Histories
THE WOMEN ONTHE MOTHER ROAD IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: Route 66 Oral Histories and Screening and Discussion Program reexamines iconic Route 66 from a female, Californian perspective. Project director Katrina Parks and librarian and archivist Chris Ervin (the Mohave Desert Archives, Goffs, CA) will present a slide lecture and several filmed and edited oral histories. They will place archival photos and filmed interviews about diverse women’s experiences along Route 66 in a wider historical, women’s studies and media studies context.

Feminists on City Council
Abby Dettenmaier is the project manager for the Women, Politics, and Activism Since Suffrage Project. She featured narrators in the poster presentation titled, “Feminists on City Council” held at CSU, Fullerton. This collection is a part of the Center for Oral and Public History which is directed by Dr. Natalie Fousekis. You can access the collection’s finding aid to learn more about the narrators’ perspectives on local politics.
