The Southwest Oral History Association is excited to announce our 2018 Call for Proposals. This year’s theme is, “Elevating Voices: Oral Histories of Resilience and Unity.” The Call for Presentations Deadline: November 20, 2017. The SOHA Annual Conference will take place APRIL 27-29, 2018 at the Marriott Fullerton and California State University, Fullerton. Please visit southwestoralhistoryassociation.org for more details.

Arts and Leisure: An Oral History

Indira Berndtson presented “Dancing Architects: Learning about a little-known aspect of Frank Lloyd Wright’s School of Architecture through Participant’s Voices.” She explained “dance as a type of knowledge.” Olgivanna and Iovanna Wright orchestrated elaborate productions at Taliesin West. An Introductory Workshop on the Craft of Doing Oral History

The Introduction to Oral History Workshop for the SOHA 2017 Conference is happening now. We are excited to see this group learn together. This session is presented by Danette Turner who is a U.S. History Lecturer at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. She is assisted by Sarah Moorhead, who is a SOHA Past President.
