Our thanks to the more than eighty SOHA members and friends who joined us in Tempe, Arizona the weekend of April 27-29 for the SOHA Annual Conference!

From introductory workshops to inspiring plenary addresses and groundbreaking documentary films, we explored the many ways in which oral history, oral traditions, and storytelling help to bridge past, present, and future. Our Summer 2017 Newsletter is full of photos, remembrances, and reports on the many amazing people and presentations who came together to make this year’s gathering such a success.

Our thanks to the 2017 Conference Committee, chaired by Juan Coronado and including Marcia Gallo, Jennifer Keil, Farina King, Carlos Lopez and especially Sarah Moorhead and Danette Turner. SOHA Graduate Assistant Franklin Howard did an outstanding job as Conference Registrar.

Mark your calendars now: the 2018 SOHA Conference will be held in southern California the weekend of April 27-29. More details coming in the next few months…please let us know if you have suggestions for planning, publicity, program, etc.
